I think Erika said it best that it is a time to explore. I think one of the main points about appearing on the show is people are able to live in a new place and meet new people. Also, when you have 6 or 7 other strangers are able to put a mirror up in front of your face and give you an unbiased point of view. Like with Ashley. "This is how you appear in front of other people." For the most part people are fearful of what they don't understand where you have the regular paranoia or because it's abnormal ...... more

I think what happened is everyone comes into the house with a life story. Unfortunately Ashley's was getting beat up by her stepfather which doesn't come out on the first day but over the natural course of time living there. Nobody else had any awarness of what Ashley had gone thru. It would of been better handled if Ashley said this is what happened to me in my life and probably the roomates would of been more understanding and why it felt warranted to spend the night in a hotel but Andrew pegged it and...... more

I remembered Evan was from Fresh Meat but I forgot that Kennny was from it too. I agree that not just them but everyone need to stop acting like they are so entitled which they aren't. Like I've said before I think there is such a thing has living your life and finding a job and earning a living like normal people instead of living off of MTV prize money from challenge to challenge. They are really a bunch of addicts....they get lured by the prospect of winning alot of money but everyone gets pulled into...... more

From watching the show the big irony I see is Derek and Joanna broke the rules for Student City..you are not allowed to fraternize at all with the travelers. Joanna has dinner with Kirk, hangs out in the hot tub and he sleeps overnight in her bed and Derek slept with the guy he met. The only difference being is Joey got caught. The crew and producers were stuck between a rock and a hard place but they needed to keep that 4th wall up. Do they tell Student City about Derek's and Joanna's transgressions and...... more

CT has always been the blue collar coming from a low middle class family tough Boston guy. I would think the produers or Murray would get the hint after a few times that some people do not belong on the show. Or with CT's brother getting shot, he knew it was the wrong time to be doing another show. I get tired of the people who try to extend their 15 mins of fame by doing appearances, etc. Listen closely. You.....are....not....famous. A bunch of wannabe fauxs thinking if you have your life taped for fou...... more

I am really glad that someone else agrees with me. MTV is a joke said it correctly. To me the point of the challenge shows was to have alumni cast members compete who are still relatively young in their 20's and not people like Mark Long who was originally on MTV 25 years ago. I'm exaggerating but you don't need to have guys in their 40's competing on a show that is supposed to be youth oriented. That's the first problem I have with the show. I've been following the show since the start. I think the journal was a great idea. I'd be interested to know what is happening now. When did they tape the after shows with Mark as host? Will the shows and the web interviews replace a reunion show? I'm sure I am like alot of people who admire Ryan's courage and dedication to service. I felt sorry when he broke down in front of Scott. I've been watching the show since the beginning. It's funny but I feel there is a few problems. We've seen it before on other MTV shows like with Tila Tequila where she picks somebody and then after the show is over drops him/her like a bad habit acting like she never knew the person. I really question if the guys are there because it's MTV and you get to be on national TV and get all the trappings or just because they'd rather get to know Brody because he is just a cool guy.
