Shane really kind of sucked tonight. He and JC both seemed to have been skipping the whole routine waiting for the next big stunt to wow the audience.
Of all nights to put down supercrew, this was their sickest routine so far on the show, and Shane picked tonight to rip them? Was he just skipping everything in the whole performance waiting to see a flip or something? Did his eyes glaize over while watching it or something? It was filled with so much dancing, and everything was so precise. If the camera angles got America messed up I can understand cause that was unprofessional by MTV I can't blame the viewer, but I'm pretty surprised Shane knocked down this performance, makes me think he knows nothing about bboys and that he was just skipping everything waiting for a trick or something. If he plays this back I know he will understand what I have to say about it too, hopefully he'll read this and feel me.
Lets break the whole performance down, to show you how good it was to make it embarrassing for Shane to call this one this badly.
Beginning: Big golden statue in the beginning with two statues doing hand freezes. Do Knock spraypaints the golden statues to get them lively and they start moving and does some variation of a jump back suicide backwards and works with the crowd. Work up the crowd with a trick after some creativity? Check.
Middle: do knock runs through the statues as they slowly try to catch him, he gets away and they do a sort of a statue glide towards him. Again, creativity.
Transition: Do Knock does some sick backflips and slowly joins the statues in getting into formation, and as the music picks up in speed their footwork gets faster and faster as the beat progresses until they are going full speed. Sick transition? Check.
After transition: Footwork is very fast paced and if you look everyone is doing the exact same style, every move of the foot is choreographed. You wanted dancing? Check.
Ending: I can't believe you missed how intricate each footstep is for all of them to be on point. They really put a lot of work into this routine and it showed. I can't believe how much better the voting pages camera angles are to the TV shows. I missed half of this when I watched it on TV two times. They stand up and bust into a higher difficulty and STILL just as fast footwork routine after do knock starts getting into his headspin then handstand.. which I admit the headspin wasn't the CLEANEST but still higher difficulty than any other crew on the show can do. Really there is nothing else to it. Just as clean and even higher difficulty in any sense of the word than most Jabbawockeez routines? Check. Yeah, I just went there and Jabbawockeez are my favorite crew, over super crew.
So yeah... Shane just kind of let me down a little bit there. I know he has the freedom to like or dislike any routine he wants and thats fine, I just thought he had a more professional eye than that.
I really hope the camera angles are the same on the online video as they are on the polling page at least. I'm pretty sure its a different camera angle than what I saw on TV, because the camera angles changed so much when I saw it aired on TV that I couldn't really catch the last half of the performance.
